Privacy Policy for SMB Scout
Effective Date: March 2026
Overview
Lion Pixel ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and security. This Privacy Policy outlines how the SMB Scout application ("the Application") handles your information.
Information Collection & Use
SMB Scout is a strictly local network diagnostic application. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information, telemetry, usage metrics, or network data with Lion Pixel or any third parties. All network testing is performed directly between your local machine and the target servers you specify.
Local Storage & Cryptography
When you choose to save a "Connection Profile" within the application, your server details and encrypted credentials are saved to a local configuration file on your hard drive. Your passwords are encrypted at rest using the Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI), ensuring they are securely tied to your specific Windows User Account. This information never leaves your device.
Changes to This Policy
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page. However, our commitment to a strictly local, privacy-first architecture will remain.
